The $80,000 Faggot Dataset

This is a dataset of over 15 million public tweets containing the word "faggot" posted to Twitter between the years of 2006-2022.

This dataset was collected between December 2021 and February 2022 via Twitter's free, publicly accessible search functionality. Twitter later removed the public search utility and in March 2023, launched new API access tiers and announced astronomical pricing for GET and POST requests, posing significant challenges to academics, researchers, artists and others reliant on access to historic tweet data.

The API access level that would be required to recreate this dataset today is priced at $5,000.00/month for 1,000,000 tweets retrieved.

This dataset is provided free of charge and is intended to be used for research and educational purposes.

The dataset contains the following columns: URL, date, content, ID, user, reply count, retweet count, like count, quote count, lang, and media from Twitter search results, as well as negative, neutral, and positive sentiment scores.
